Our Mission
Our Program

Challenge young adults to spend a year of their life working in a placement organization, agency or group that serves the inner cities of Connecticut.  Chi Rho will pair volunteers and placement agencies based on interests and experiences as well as the needs of the community.  The volunteers will be serving in the tradition of Catholic social teaching using their talents to offer practical service to others.

Make a significant, positive impact in the lives of the poor by supplying agencies that are typically understaffed and under funded with college graduates who are skilled, talented and enthusiastic.  This allows these agencies to expand programs and services throughout their communities.

Make a significant, positive impact on the lives of the Chi Rho volunteers by challenging them through the year of service to dedicate their lives to others.

Provide the volunteers with a supportive, stimulating Christian community.  The community is built around sacrifice and shared experiences, with the year of volunteer work being supplemented by a curriculum of activities and group discussions.

Engage the volunteers in meaningful conversations about their faith to stimulate thought and reflection and promote spiritual growth in the Catholic faith.
